A pair of sterling silver cast speckled alder stud earrings. These earrings were created using leaves picked from an alder tree along the shore of Oxtongue Lake, just outside the west gate of Algonquin Park. Speckled alder trees are found along the shores of lakes and rivers in Northern Ontario, and its Latin name means close to the river. The pattern from the leaf was pressed into casting wax and then cast into silver.
